Shift Options:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
Pay:
$20–$30/hr (based on experience)
We are seeking a motivated Shot Peen Former with aerospace manufacturing experience who is eager to learn a specialized skill in surface treatment and metal forming. This role involves operating shot peening equipment to improve the stress tolerance and structural integrity of aircraft components.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual shot peening equipment to form and strengthen metal aircraft parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, and OEM specifications
- Mark and prepare areas of parts to be shot peened using measuring and layout tools
- Mount parts on jigs, rotary tables, or tooling fixtures for processing
- Load and maintain proper shot media (size and type) in equipment hoppers
- Adjust machine settings such as nozzle angles, air/vacuum pressure, feed rates, and oscillation
- Measure and inspect parts during and after processing to ensure conformance to specifications
- Record equipment settings and process data for repeatability and CNC programming use
- Operate or input commands into automated control systems when required
- Remove masking materials and clean finished parts after processing
- Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions or process issues
- Work closely with lead formers and follow training procedures to develop expertise
Equipment Used
- Manual shot peening machines and automated shot peening systems
- Measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and inspection instruments
- Jigs, fixtures, rotary tables, and masking materials
- Computer-controlled equipment interfaces (when applicable)
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2–5+ years of aircraft manufacturing experience required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical/OEM specifications
- Experience using precision measuring tools preferred or willingness to learn
- Shot peen manual saturation experience preferred but not required
- Must be US citizen or green card holder (no visa sponsorship available)

- Ability to learn a highly specialized aerospace manufacturing process
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, physically active environment
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety standards
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 75–150 lbs occasionally with assistance
- Willingness to work overtime and rotate shifts if needed
- Ability to work in environments with noise, temperature changes, and safety PPE requirements
