HiFyve is hiring an Equipment & Facilities Technician in the manufacturing industry!

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Pay: $30.00–$40.00/hr

Shift: 1st shift 5 8’s or 4 10’s start time can vary from 4 AM to 9 AM-flexible schedule


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform technical maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting of lettershop, bindery, and finishing equipment.
  • Lead and support technicians with machine setup and tuning for optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including equipment without manuals or obsolete parts.
  • Source and install substituted or upgraded parts as needed.
  • Interpret and work from electrical controls, drives, mechanical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment using pre-established checklists.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing worn parts.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and submit orders to ensure continuous operations.
  • Manage and document work orders in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Follow all safety and chemical procedures.
  • Perform minor carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs as needed.
  • Install and rearrange modular office furniture, panels, lighting, and related fixtures.
  • Handle general custodial tasks, trash removal, and grounds maintenance (including snow/ice removal).
  • Maintain clean and organized production and maintenance areas (5S standards).


Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school a plus.
  • 7+ years of electronic and mechanical troubleshooting experience on automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with roll stands, direct mail, bindery, or fulfillment industry equipment (e.g., high-speed inserters, Ehrets, Staahl) preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new machine operations.
  • Previous safety team participation and/or safety training is a plus.
  • Lean manufacturing and/or quality control training preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and hand/power tools.
  • Knowledge of equipment programming and electrical controls.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
  • Capable of documenting work and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
