About the Role
We're looking for a Production Supervisor to lead second-shift operations in a food manufacturing environment. This position will oversee production employees, coordinate daily workflow, and ensure safety, quality, food safety, and production goals are consistently met.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, and provide daily direction to production employees
- Monitor production activities to ensure output, quality, and efficiency goals are achieved
- Oversee processing and packaging operations, including equipment performance and sanitation
- Coordinate production schedules, materials, ingredients, and packaging to meet customer demand
- Identify equipment issues and coordinate timely maintenance and repairs
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, cost, and overall plant performance
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements
- Coach, train, and develop employees while providing ongoing performance feedback
- Support employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes
- Conduct shift meetings and maintain clear communication across the production team
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other departments to resolve operational issues
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and other required production and employee documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably within food or beverage manufacturing
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or demonstrated manufacturing leadership experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and equipment operations
- Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, quality, and workplace safety practices
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage production priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to coach employees and hold teams accountable for performance and safety
Preferred Experience
- Food, beverage, or dairy manufacturing
- Dairy processing operations such as pasteurization, separation, mixing, filling, or packaging
- Continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives
- Production scheduling and material coordination
- Union manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
