About the Role

Join a high-volume food and beverage manufacturing facility as the Maintenance Manager responsible for leading maintenance operations, improving equipment reliability, and developing a high-performing maintenance team. This hands-on leadership role will drive preventive maintenance, equipment uptime, continuous improvement, and safety while supporting plant operations in a fast-paced production environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance department to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment and facility systems
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life
  • Ensure maintenance planning and scheduling systems effectively support routine maintenance, planned shutdowns, sanitation windows, and emergency repairs
  • Drive maintenance best practices, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve world-class maintenance performance
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical maintenance issues and equipment failures
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to identify equipment upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects that improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs
  • Evaluate equipment replacement opportunities and provide recommendations based on operational and financial impact
  • Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies to support efficient plant operations while controlling costs
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support capital planning initiatives
  • Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance priorities and facility needs with plant leadership
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMPs, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies
  • Lead hiring, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and employee development for maintenance personnel
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the maintenance organization


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and maintenance leadership experience
  • 5+ years of maintenance, mechanical engineering, or industrial maintenance experience within a food and beverage manufacturing environment
  • Previous maintenance leadership or management experience required
  • Hands-on ammonia refrigeration experience required
  • Minnesota 1B Boiler License required
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment including boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, blow molding equipment, high-speed fillers, palletizers, and related manufacturing systems
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems including 480V three-phase motor controls
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming experience is preferred
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and reliability initiatives
  • Technical certifications in electrical, welding, refrigeration, compressed air, wastewater, plumbing, or related trades are a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to maintenance operations
