Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Journeyman to join our commercial service and installation team in New York City. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with commercial HVAC systems, can troubleshoot independently, and understands NYC building environments, codes, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including:
  • Rooftop units (RTUs)
  • Split systems
  • VRF/VRV systems
  • Chillers, boilers, and air handlers (as applicable)
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on commercial equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Ensure compliance with NYC building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
  • Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, building managers, and other trades
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on commercial HVAC experience
  • Journeyman-level knowledge of HVAC systems and components
  • EPA Universal Certification (required)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with NYC commercial buildings and jobsite conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical rooms

Preferred Qualifications

  • NYC Refrigeration License (Q-01, Q-99, or equivalent) or ability to obtain
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS/DDC)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Union experience a plus (if applicable)
