HiFyve is hiring a Senior Process Control Engineer in the chemical manufacturing industry in Houston, TX!


Salary: $125K-$145K + bonus

Shift: Monday to Friday

Location: Houston, TX (relocation available)


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct instrumentation and process controls activities across all company facilities.
  • Lead the discipline for applicable capital projects and act as a project manager/engineer for Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) projects.
  • Provide technical support for instrumentation, control systems, and DCS (Distributed Control System) issues.
  • Develop and enforce standards for I&C hardware, software, control strategies, and system installations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process control, DCS, and field instrumentation issues.
  • Oversee the Central Data Historian System and ensure plant interfaces are maintained effectively.
  • Specify and procure DCS components and hardware for projects.
  • Develop control strategies, programming logic, and HMI graphics while ensuring compliance with Management of Change protocols.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance teams to enhance skills and reliability of plant DCS systems.
  • Lead initiatives to upgrade, maintain, and improve plant DCS systems and ensure reliability.
  • Support annual turnaround planning for instrumentation and controls-related activities.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Electrical preferred).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in relevant roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS systems.
  • Proficiency with PLC systems and system interfaces.
  • Proficiency with OSISoft PI Enterprise Server.


  • Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with NFPA/NEC codes and HAZOP procedures (preferred).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for computer systems and Ethernet networking components.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Excel.
  • Experience in manufacturing plant operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High energy, team player, with excellent work ethic and organizational skills.
