HiFyve is hiring an Automation and Controls Specialist in Columbia, MO!


  • Pay: $40-48/hr.++ (and overtime pay)


We are seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Specialist with a strong background in high-speed bottling operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing our automation systems and controls to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and ensure compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • System Optimization: Develop, implement, and optimize automation systems for high-speed bottling lines to maximize efficiency and output.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in automation systems and controls, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Project Management: Lead automation projects from conception through implementation, including system upgrades and new technology integrations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of control systems, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Training: Provide training and support to operational staff on automation systems and best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications:.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation and controls, specifically in high-speed bottling operations.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and control systems, including Rockwell Automation and Mitsubishi PLCs, as well as VFDs.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMI systems, VFDs, and Rockwell Automation software such as RSView, RSLinx, and RSHistorian.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of dairy production processes and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with safety and environmental regulations in food processing.
