PARTS COUNTER - DAY SHIFT

Davenport, IA (Quad Cities metro) | Full-time, direct hire

Schedule: Monday through Friday, days | Occasional overtime as needed

Pay: $21 to $25/hour depending on experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A multi-state heavy equipment dealer is adding a Parts Counter associate at its Davenport area branch. You will be the go-to person for customers who need the right part fast, in person or by phone. This is an on-site role; it cannot be done remotely.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Greet customers, find out what they need, and identify the correct part numbers

- Check availability, recommend and sell parts, and complete parts order forms

- Enter orders and related information into the dealer business system

- Edit customer orders and keep customers updated on order status

- Expedite backorders with other branches and with manufacturers

- Support the warehouse and shop with parts as needed

- Maintain the parts counter catalog library

- Help reconcile purchase order numbers to invoices

- Take part in factory training and monthly parts meetings

WHAT YOU NEED

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Experience with vehicles or heavy equipment preferred

- Familiar with parts terminology; automotive, parts or equipment knowledge a plus

- Experience with parts cataloging or inventory management systems preferred

- Warehouse and shop parts training, or equivalent experience

- Strong verbal communication and a customer service mindset

- Basic computer and data entry skills

- Organized, decisive, and able to build credibility with customers quickly

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Parts counter and warehouse setting

- Lift up to 20 lbs frequently and 21 to 50 lbs occasionally

- Frequent bending, pulling, reaching, stooping and climbing

- Forklift use as needed to pick and pack parts

- Full-time, non-exempt
