5-AXIS CNC MACHINIST - DAY SHIFT

Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours

Pay: $35-42/hr depending on experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A precision machining job shop serving aerospace, defense, medical and microelectronics customers is adding a 5-Axis Machinist. The work is short run (typically 1 to 30 pieces), tight tolerance and different every day, in an AS9100D and ISO 9001 certified shop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Set up, prove out and run 5-axis machining centers to produce complex, high precision parts
• Edit programs at the control; program new parts where your experience allows
• Plan work holding and fixturing, set offsets, and adjust feeds and speeds
• Inspect your own parts in process and at final using precision measuring tools
• Read blueprints, technical drawings and work orders
• Keep machines, tooling and your work area in good order

WHAT YOU NEED

• Proven 5-axis CNC mill setup and operation experience, job shop background strongly preferred
• Ability to hold tight tolerances on short run work
• Comfortable editing programs; CAM programming experience is a plus
• Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
• A steady work history
• Must be a U.S. person (work involves ITAR controlled technical data)
