Kitchen Appliance Service Technician – Hot Side (Field Service)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Hot-Side Kitchen Appliance Service Technician to support commercial clients throughout Manhattan and the NYC boroughs. This is a field service role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial cooking equipment in restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, and foodservice facilities.
The ideal technician is customer-focused, technically strong, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced NYC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair hot-side commercial kitchen equipment, including:
- Gas & electric ranges
- Ovens (convection, deck, combi)
- Fryers
- Griddles & charbroilers
- Steamers & kettles
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls in the field
- Troubleshoot electrical, gas, and mechanical issues efficiently
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals
- Communicate professionally with kitchen staff, managers, and clients
- Accurately document service work, parts used, and time on work orders
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
- Adhere to safety standards, gas codes, and NYC regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience servicing commercial hot-side kitchen equipment
- Strong electrical and gas troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in a field service environment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- EPA certification a plus (not required for hot side)
- Factory training or CFESA certification a plus
- Comfortable traveling daily throughout Manhattan and boroughs
