Salary: $70-85K/yr

Shift: 1st Shift M-F (hours may vary based on production needs)

Location: St. Louis, MO

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Direct skilled and semi-skilled maintenance employees in the repair and upkeep of plant buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Oversee maintenance and repair of all plant machinery, including mechanical and electrical systems.

Coordinate and manage work performed by outside vendors and contractors.

Lead troubleshooting and programming of PLC systems and electronic control circuits.

Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and required inspections for licenses and permits.

Install, rebuild, and maintain equipment controls including PCs, PLCs, and custom controllers.

Troubleshoot and repair control systems involving servos, encoders, relays, sensors, and other automation components.

Interpret and develop PLC ladder logic programs and related circuitry.

Maintain and repair plant network and computer systems.

Execute projects involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, including creating bills of materials.

Track and manage equipment repair costs and maintenance budgets.

Perform welding and brazing for equipment repair and fabrication.

Ensure proper use of tools, machinery, and adherence to safety protocols (including forklift operation).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong hands-on experience in metal manufacturing environments.

Expertise in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system integration.

Proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to develop and maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Effective time and resource management to support production goals.

Ability to build and maintain cross-functional working relationships.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.

2–5 years of experience in plant, building, and equipment maintenance management.

Experience in metal fabrication and welded assembly operations preferred.

Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with maintenance best practices, supervision, scheduling, and workflow coordination.
