Salary: $25-35/hr
Shift: 12 hour rotating Shift (2-2-3) 5:45PM-6:00AM nightsÂ
Week 1 = Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat
Week 2 = Sun, Wed, Thur
Location: Kansas City KS
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair all production equipment to ensure quality flexible packaging materials are produced on time in accordance with work instructions and safety/quality procedures.
- Inspect all tools and maintenance equipment at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure proper working order and accountability.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks with urgency while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Review and follow all Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and task sheets to ensure proper maintenance intervals and documentation.
- Complete repairs according to regional and local electrical/plumbing codes and manufacturer equipment manuals.
- Prioritize personal and machine safety, ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time while maintaining machine health.
- Utilize maintenance software (CMMS) to accurately track work orders, time, and materials.
- Communicate with the Maintenance Leader regarding parts usage, replenishment needs, and critical components.
- Coordinate with maintenance team members and production associates to ensure smooth shift transitions and equipment reliability.
- Follow all company safety, GMP, food safety, and quality standards outlined in company manuals and programs.
- Support teamwork initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and assist other departments when needed.
- Generate and implement improvement ideas to support operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Adhere to safety culture standards with the objective of zero safety incidents.
- Maintain compliance with GMP and food safety standards with no repeat violations.
- Follow all QMS standards for food safety and ensure proper documentation and signatures for work orders.
- Complete assigned work orders within estimated timeframes on a rolling 90-day average.
- Follow attendance policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Maintain housekeeping standards, including cleaning equipment after maintenance and following shop 6S and inventory control programs.
- Provide proper care to machines and equipment resulting in zero damage.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous maintenance experience in an industrial production environment with related safety training preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, machinery manuals, and follow verbal instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mathematical calculations and use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers.
- Detail-oriented with accurate paperwork and system documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in team environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production priorities and assignments.
- Proven teamwork and continuous improvement experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle items up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
- Ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Availability for call-ins during off hours for major equipment breakdowns.
- Must provide personal hand tools and toolbox (company provides specialty tools).
- Willingness to travel locally or overnight as needed.
- Training in proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste required.
