HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Packaging / Manufacturing industry!

Salary: $25–$30/hr 

Shift: 2nd shift 4 pm to 2:30 am M-Th 4 10 hours shifts

Location: Johnson County

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair packaging and box sheet manufacturing equipment
  • Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, and automated packaging equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on production machinery and facility equipment
  • Diagnose equipment issues using inspection, testing, and root-cause analysis
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components
  • Assist with machine set-ups, changeovers, and adjustments as needed
  • Operate packaging equipment when required to support production needs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, and work orders
  • Perform basic fabrication, welding, cutting, and grinding as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and PM documentation
  • Work closely with operators, supervisors, and production teams to resolve issues

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical training or equivalent industrial maintenance experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on packaging, box, corrugate, or sheet-fed equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical systems including motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, and 3-phase power
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting (inputs/outputs, basic fault finding) preferred
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Preventative maintenance experience on production equipment
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and measuring devices
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to assist in equipment operation when production support is needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment
