ICT is looking for a Senior Technology Planner to join our growing team! This individual must have a desire to expand their technical knowledge base in the pursuit of an advanced position. The candidate may lead a team of designers/engineers or operate in a supporting role in the development of the projects design requirements. Core Competencies: 

  • Receives project assignments from the Team Leader and works to develop a strategy to accomplish the design effort along the project timeline.
  • Performs duties as a Senior Technology Planner and Technology Designer to include taking a design from concept to completion and into construction. Manage support resources. Evaluate, develop and implement comprehensive systems solutions to effectively fulfill business requirements.
  • Attend client and group meetings to interpret the client requirements. Planner may be required to lead a presentation to support the design theory. Planner will represent the company in an effective and professional capacity.
  • Design Low Voltage systems and solutions within the client or project parameters. Solutions may include Structured Cabling, Overhead Paging, Access Control, Closed Circuit TV, Cable TV, Nurse Call, Audio/Video, Pathways, Site Infrastructure.
  • Ability to effectively read, develop, and critique floor plans and design documents in the fulfillment of your role as a designer.
  • Effectively coordinate and collaborate with other design team professionals.
  • Ensures all deliverables and commitments are met and the project is in compliance with relevant standards and methodologies; contributes to the enhancement and evolution of ICT standards and specifications. Ability to meet all project milestones.
  • Ability to perform an effective peer review relating to other projects within the firm.
  • Utilize resources to receive and interpret cutsheets and manufacturer drawings in order to produce a comprehensive design for a solution.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with project team members, client technical personnel or executives.
  • Working knowledge of local and state codes and regulations as well as industry standards. Capable of finding and interpreting codes/standards from other states relevant to the respective project.

Qualifications:

  • The position requires 10 years of progressive experience in a technical design discipline including 5 years as an independent lead designer and culminating with at least 3 years successfully performing design management and coordination activities in assistance to a design project manager.
  • Equivalent progressive work experience as a Project Manager or Estimator for 10 years in a low voltage field or discipline. Actual field experience is a plus.
  • Creative thinker, ability to develop technology strategies through unconventional means.
  • Accreditation with BICSI as a Registered Communications Distribution Design (RCDD) is desired but not required.
  • Excellent computer skills working with Microsoft Word and Excel and adept to learning new software suites. CAD/REVIT/Bluebeam experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, including drawings and CSI format specifications 
  • Ability to effectively navigate through multiple projects at different stages of design or construction.
  • Willingness to travel.
