HR Administrator


Contract: Fixed Term (until July 2026)

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: £22,994 to £24,162 per annum


The Role


Our client, a Birmingham based College, are seeking a Human Resources Administrator to join on a fixed-term contract until July 2026.


The college is home to thousands of enthusiastic students and talented staff, across several campuses in Birmingham.


This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy team, during a period of system change and transformation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide first-line HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle (from onboarding onwards).
  • Manage the HR inbox and respond to routine queries.
  • Prepare HR documentation, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Support the transition from Dintra to iTrent HR system, including data cleansing and preparation.
  • Assist with day-to-day HR processes while permanent staff focus on project work.
  • Support with recruitment administration, contracts, and pre-employment checks.
  • General office administration and coordination to support the wider HR function.


About You


  • Previous experience working in an HR administrative role is essential.
  • Strong IT and database skills (iTrent experience highly desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in education is not required, though background in HR or administrative support within busy environments (e.g. hospitality, customer service, public sector) is welcomed.


Working Arrangements



  • Initially expected to be on-site for training and induction.
  • Hybrid working available once fully trained and confident in the role (typically 2–3 days per week on-site).
