Job Title: Selling Engineer – Mechanical Engineering with ASME/B31 Pipe Code Experience

Location: Texas, USA

Reports To: Business Development Director


Position Summary:

We seek a dynamic and technically skilled Selling Engineer with a solid background in ASME and B31 piping codes. This role requires an individual with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering who has a passion for both engineering and sales. The Selling Engineer will bridge the gap between engineering expertise and sales execution, leveraging technical knowledge to identify and deliver solutions that meet client needs. This position involves supporting clients in selecting, applying, and fabricating ASME vessels, pre-fab piping, and fabrication for gas lift compressors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Customer Relations:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and prospects to understand their technical needs and project requirements.
  • Present technical solutions and products to clients, demonstrating how they meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Support the sales team in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Technical Expertise in ASME/B31 Codes:
  • Utilize expertise in ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and B31 piping codes to guide clients through complex technical challenges, ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements.
  • Interpret and apply industry standards to support customer designs and applications.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on codes and standards relevant to piping and pressure vessel systems.
  • Solution Development and Product Application:
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop and customize solutions that align with customer needs and technical specifications.
  • Review customer specifications, interpret mechanical drawings, and suggest modifications or improvements to ensure high-quality and compliant solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for clients, effectively communicating product features and technical data.
  • Project Coordination and Support:
  • Assist with project planning, timeline estimation, and technical documentation, ensuring smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide post-sale support to customers, addressing any technical issues or concerns that may arise during project implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, design, and production, to ensure timely and efficient customer needs are met.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering or technical sales role, preferably in the piping, pressure vessel, or industrial equipment sectors.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with ASME and B31 piping codes is essential.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in interpreting and applying ASME and B31 codes in design and application scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, pressure vessels, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering design tools is an advantage.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client requests efficiently, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
