Reservoir Engineer - Houton, TX (Remote)
Join an independent exploration and production (E&P) company operating over 3,100 conventional and unconventional oil wells. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in the company’s growth by conducting integrated reservoir studies, performing reserve and economic analyses, and driving exploration, development, and acquisition initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to identifying new reserves, supporting acquisition efforts, and optimizing development drilling programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform integrated reservoir studies, reserve estimations, and economic evaluations for exploration, development, and acquisition opportunities.
- Identify and assess new reserve potential to support the company’s exploration and production focus.
- Analyze reserves and production profiles under SEC guidelines, forecasting outcomes for drilling projects, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Utilize reservoir modeling and fluid flow expertise to enhance reservoir performance.
- Conduct production/nodal and pressure transient analyses to optimize well productivity.
- Collaborate on well completion designs and hydraulic fracture stimulation strategies.
- Support multidisciplinary teams with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering (required).
- 2+ years of experience with unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, specifically tight sands and shales in the Permian (Delaware) Basin, South Texas (Eagle Ford), and East Texas/North Louisiana (Haynesville/Cotton Valley).
- Knowledge of SEC reserves analysis preferred.
- Proficiency in petrophysical analysis (open hole logs, advanced core analysis) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, think creatively, and deliver results in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
