Job Title: Construction Litigation Associate
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Seniority Level: Mid-Level (3–6 years preferred)
Compensation: Market-competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses
Work Arrangement: Hybrid flexibility available
About the Role:
A nationally recognized litigation team is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Construction Litigation practice in Los Angeles. This is not volume defect work, it’s high-stakes, expert-driven litigation for developers, contractors, owners, insurers, and design professionals involved in complex commercial, infrastructure, and residential projects.
The role is ideal for attorneys looking to take on meaningful responsibility, handle large-scale disputes with overlapping insurance and contractual issues, and work in a group known for its arbitration and trial capabilities.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Construction defect claims involving high-rise and mixed-use projects
- Delay, disruption, cost overrun, and inefficiency claims
- Payment and lien-related disputes
- Professional liability claims involving architects and engineers
- Insurance-backed construction litigation with major carriers
- Arbitration and mediation under AAA, JAMS, and private venues
What You’ll Do:
- Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and work with expert witnesses
- Develop litigation strategy in coordination with lead partners and insurers
- Interact directly with clients and consultants on complex construction matters
- Handle multi-party litigation in both state and federal court, as well as arbitration forums
- Collaborate across practice groups, including insurance coverage and appellate teams
Ideal Background:
- 3–6 years of litigation experience, ideally in construction or complex commercial litigation
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills
- Admission to the California Bar required
Why Join:
- Work with one of LA’s most respected construction litigation teams
- Handle technically complex, high-value disputes—not volume defense work
- Access mentorship, client-facing work, and trial exposure from day one
- Join a firm with national reach and deep integration across insurance, real estate, and litigation practices
