Labor & Employment Associate
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid or Remote Available)
Salary Range: $220,000 - $265,000.
A nationally recognized labor and employment practice is seeking an associate with 2–4 years of employer-side employment litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with large employers on complex workplace disputes, regulatory matters, and day-to-day employment counseling.
The ideal candidate is a motivated litigator who enjoys taking ownership of matters, building client relationships, and developing into a trusted advisor on evolving labor and employment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Defend employers in employment litigation before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, arbitrators, and mediators
• Conduct witness interviews and assist with workplace investigations
• Draft position statements, pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related filings
• Prepare employment agreements, separation agreements, and other personnel-related documents
• Advise clients on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk management strategies
• Work directly with clients on litigation strategy and day-to-day employment issues
Qualifications:
• 2–4 years of employment defense experience
• Strong litigation background involving employment-related claims
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Experience handling matters before courts, agencies, arbitrators, or mediators
• Strong client service skills and a proactive approach to case management
• New York Bar admission required
