We are seeking skilled Maintenance Mechanics to join our team at a high-volume food manufacturing facility in Pasco, WA. This role is critical to ensuring continuous operation by performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment. The facility operates 24/7/365, producing shelf-stable food products.
Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to track and document repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, utility, and facility equipment.
- Work with equipment such as pumps, valves, separators, reverse osmosis systems, evaporators, dryers, case packers, palletizers, boilers, chillers, air compressors, forklifts, and more.
- Use CMMS to log hours, locate parts, document repairs, generate follow-up work orders, and receive work assignments.
- Read and follow work orders related to equipment service, modification, or installation.
- Inspect, install, operate, lubricate, and repair equipment following condition monitoring protocols and safety procedures.
- Monitor and maintain plant utilities including power distribution, steam generation, water systems, HVAC, and fire suppression.
- Maintain professional working relationships with operations, management, and outside vendors.
- Use hand, shop, and power tools to perform maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge in mechanical systems, including:
- Utilities: Electrical, steam, compressed air, water, wastewater, refrigeration
- Building systems: HVAC, fire safety, and security
- Mechanical: Gearboxes, chain/sprockets, belt/pulleys, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Experience maintaining:
- Packaging systems: Palletizers, case packers/formers, baggers, conveyors, robotics
- Processing equipment: Valves, pumps, separators, evaporators, heat exchangers
- Utility equipment: Boilers, chillers, air compressors
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical and electrical schematics
- Proficient in using CMMS software to track and record maintenance work
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in food, beverage, or packaging manufacturing environments is preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12-hour shifts involving sitting, standing, climbing, or walking
- Comfortable working in a loud manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical training or formal education in a related field preferred
Preferred Skills:
- PLC troubleshooting and control systems experience
- Background in industrial electrical systems and instrumentation
- Sanitary welding and stainless-steel fabrication experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in high-speed production environments
Shifts:
This is a 365-day operation. Candidates must be willing to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
