Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at a high-capacity processing facility in Pasco. The Maintenance Manager will lead the plant’s maintenance operations, overseeing both personnel and budgetary responsibilities. This role is integral to the success of our 24/7 operation and reports to the Operations leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Lead and manage a maintenance team in a facility operating 24/7.
  • Provide emergency response for off-hour issues, including equipment failures, damage mitigation, and assignment of maintenance staff.
  • Administer the maintenance department budget and manage capital projects, equipment purchases, and vendor-contracted work.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs focused on improving OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Oversee plant utilities including steam generation, power distribution, chillers, glycol heating/cooling systems, cooling towers, HVAC, water systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as defect handling, CIL (clean-inspect-lubricate) routines, and breakdown root cause analysis to improve plant reliability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in food or process manufacturing required; drying operations preferred.
  • Strong background in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and building maintenance systems.
  • Working knowledge of wastewater treatment, boiler operations, and refrigeration systems.
  • Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining process control and automation software.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • Proven leadership in team development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management abilities.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; Associate degree in a technical discipline with relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5 to 7 years of combined experience in plant maintenance or engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with production involving drying, powder processing, or packaging preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems.
  • Proficiency in computer-driven process controls and general PC literacy required.
