JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with project leadership during pre-construction to review drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost targets to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate labor, tools, equipment, and material deliveries to maintain efficient workflow and maximize crew productivity.
  • Develop short-term work plans, including weekly look-ahead schedules, and establish clear production goals for yourself and the crew.
  • Track job progress against budgets and timelines, making real-time adjustments to maintain profitability.
  • Participate in project closeout reviews to identify lessons learned and apply best practices to future projects.


Field Leadership & Production Management

  • Direct, organize, and support crews to meet or exceed production expectations while maintaining high workmanship standards.
  • Lead by example in productivity, professionalism, and quality of work.
  • Monitor daily operations and completed work, providing coaching and corrective guidance as needed.
  • Estimate upcoming material needs and place orders accurately to avoid shortages or excess inventory.


Quality Control & Client Coordination

  • Ensure all work complies with contract documents, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of project plans, RFIs, submittals, and changes to prevent surprises.
  • Conduct routine site inspections to confirm quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
  • Coordinate daily with the client’s on-site representatives to align expectations, resolve issues, and adjust plans as required.
  • Maintain open communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and acceptable material quality.


Crew Leadership

  • Request and assign the appropriate workforce mix based on project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Match crew members to tasks based on skill level and mentor apprentices through proper training and pairing.
  • Promote punctuality, accountability, and strong work ethic throughout the workday.
  • Recognize and communicate crew achievements to company leadership.
  • Address performance, attendance, or quality issues respectfully and privately when necessary.
  • Foster a positive team environment through clear expectations, goal setting, and consistent leadership presence.


Safety, Compliance & Administration

  • Enforce company policies, jobsite rules, and safety standards consistently and fairly.
  • Maintain required safety certifications and ensure crews follow safe work practices at all times.
  • Complete daily reports, timekeeping verification, RFIs, EWAs, and change documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ensure all labor hours are properly recorded and submitted according to company procedures.
  • Maintain daily communication with project managers, supervisors, and crews to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of framing experience.
  • Experience working from blueprints.
  • Knowledge of hanging drywall.
