IT Infrastructure Engineer (Gaming Focus) – Montréal, QC – $30-$35 CAD/hr

Location: Suite 101, 6795 Rue Marconi, Montréal, QC H2S 3J9

Pay Rate: $30-$35 CAD/hr (Contract)

Are you ready to engineer the digital foundation behind cutting-edge gaming experiences? A globally recognized gaming studio is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support its Montreal-based IT operations. This role is key to ensuring seamless, secure, and high-speed connectivity across game development teams and studio environments.


What You’ll Do:

  • Design and maintain robust network infrastructure to support live game development and studio operations
  • Optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure low latency and high performance
  • Monitor network health and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime
  • Support both on-premise and cloud server environments
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to solve connectivity challenges
  • Develop and maintain documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
  • Perform bandwidth management and capacity planning
  • Implement disaster recovery systems and redundancy solutions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to future-proof the infrastructure
  • Partner with third-party vendors as needed


Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in high-traffic digital or gaming environments
  • Expertise with enterprise-grade network tools (Cisco, Fortigate, etc.)
  • Strong grasp of protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S
  • Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, and security best practices
  • Experience with CDNs and load balancers
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in French and English; Chinese is a plus


Preferred Extras:

  • CCNP, NSE, or similar certifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of SDN, network automation, and MLOps tools
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, SolarWinds, or PRTG
  • Experience with QoS optimization and latency-sensitive systems
