Senior AEM Developer

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $65–$69/hr

Duration: ~6 month contract

Schedule: Remote (PST time zone)


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-level AEM solutions. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on AEM development experience, strong Java development skills, and experience building scalable web applications and content management solutions.


This is a customer-facing role, so strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with clients and internal stakeholders are important. The ideal candidate will be comfortable translating business requirements into technical solutions, discussing design options, and working within an Agile development environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain enterprise applications using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
  • Develop reusable AEM components, templates, and content structures using HTL (Sightly)
  • Develop and maintain backend services and business logic using Java
  • Work with AEM technologies including Apache Sling, OSGi, JCR/CRX, and AEM workflows
  • Develop and integrate Experience Fragments and Content Fragments
  • Configure and support AEM Author and Publish environments, including replication and Dispatcher
  • Troubleshoot application, content, and platform issues and support performance optimization
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements and communicate technical recommendations, design options, and considerations
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and technical discussions
  • Develop unit and integration tests and ensure solutions meet quality and performance standards
  • Support CI/CD processes, builds, deployments, and release activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards and best practices


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development experience
  • Strong experience with AEM 6.5, preferably in an enterprise environment
  • Strong experience developing:
  • AEM Components and Templates
  • HTL (Sightly)
  • Sling Models
  • OSGi Services
  • AEM Workflows
  • Experience Fragments and/or Content Fragments
  • Strong Java/J2EE development experience
  • Experience with Apache Sling, JCR/CRX, and OSGi
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and presenting technical solutions or design considerations


Preferred Qualifications

  • AEM 6 Sites certification or other AEM certification
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud Manager and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with AEM Author/Publish environments, Dispatcher, and replication
  • Experience with Maven, Jenkins, Git, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with RESTful web services and API integrations
  • Experience with React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Adobe DAM, MSM, Content Fragments, and Experience Fragments
  • Experience with unit testing and automated testing
  • Experience supporting AEM upgrades, migrations, or implementations
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing consulting or implementation environment
