Content Specialist & Visual Designer

Pay Rate: Up to $38.78/hour

Duration: 10-month contract

Hours: Full-Time

Location: Cupertino, CA (Hybrid)


Summary

We are seeking an experienced Content Specialist & Visual Designer to develop high-impact written content, executive-ready presentations, newsletters, and modern digital experiences.


This role combines editorial storytelling, information synthesis, visual design, and AI-powered content creation. The ideal candidate can take complex project and initiative updates, identify key insights and milestones, and transform them into clear, compelling communications tailored to audiences ranging from working teams to senior leadership.


The successful candidate will bring strong writing and editorial judgment, a polished visual design sensibility, presentation expertise, and the ability to leverage generative AI and prompt engineering to accelerate content development and digital experiences.


What You'll Do

  • Review complex project, program, and initiative updates from cross-functional teams and synthesize key insights, milestones, risks, and decisions
  • Translate technical and operational information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communications
  • Develop weekly rollups, team dashboards, executive briefings, leadership readouts, and other reporting materials
  • Design and polish high-impact presentations for senior leadership and enterprise audiences
  • Translate complex data, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives into compelling visual narratives and presentation decks
  • Apply strong principles of typography, visual hierarchy, layout, branding, animation, and presentation storytelling
  • Research topics, interview subject matter experts, and develop engaging written content including executive communications, team updates, feature articles, and announcements
  • Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, tone, consistency, and executive-level polish
  • Own end-to-end newsletter production, including content development, curation, visual layout, and publishing
  • Create banners, infographics, photo illustrations, and other visual assets for presentations, newsletters, reports, and digital experiences
  • Source, retouch, and curate imagery consistent with established visual standards
  • Use generative AI tools and prompt engineering techniques to support content development, ideation, asset creation, and rapid prototyping
  • Leverage AI-powered creation tools to develop internal team sites, landing pages, and resource hubs without requiring traditional coding
  • Review and refine AI-generated digital experiences using strong principles of web design, information architecture, spacing, visual hierarchy, and usability
  • Incorporate feedback from senior stakeholders and iterate quickly while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Handle sensitive and confidential project information with appropriate discretion


What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive reporting, editorial writing, journalism, presentation design, visual design, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to digest complex information and synthesize it into clear, actionable, audience-specific communications
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills
  • Experience creating executive-level presentations with a strong understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and storytelling
  • Proficiency with Apple Keynote preferred; strong PowerPoint experience with the ability to transition to Keynote will be considered
  • Strong visual design skills and proficiency with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, or similar design platforms
  • Experience creating newsletters, communications, presentations, digital content, or other polished visual assets
  • Strong understanding of modern web design, UX/UI principles, information architecture, and digital layout; coding experience is not required
  • Demonstrated fluency with generative AI tools and prompt engineering
  • Ability to use AI tools for drafting, ideation, content synthesis, visual asset creation, and rapid digital prototyping
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of visual and editorial quality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Cupertino, CA


Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience supporting executive communications or enterprise-level internal communications
  • Experience in journalism, editorial content development, or interviewing subject matter experts
  • Experience developing internal websites, landing pages, newsletters, or digital resource hubs
  • Experience using AI-powered design or content creation platforms
  • Experience creating photo illustrations, infographics, or other custom visual assets
  • A portfolio or work samples demonstrating strong writing, presentation design, visual design, and/or digital content work
  • Experience presenting a portfolio or work samples to senior stakeholders

Note: Candidates who advance to a second-round interview may be asked to present relevant portfolio pieces or work samples.
