About the Company

Founded in 2012 by two Stanford professors, our client’s mission is to provide anyone, anywhere access to world-class learning. Today, the company is a leading global online learning platform serving millions of learners and thousands of institutions worldwide.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Performance Marketing Manager to support paid media campaigns for its online degree portfolio. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for campaign setup, launch, optimization, pacing, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring across paid search and paid social channels. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads and understands how to optimize campaigns with longer conversion cycles. Higher education experience is preferred, particularly online degree programs, but candidates from other industries with high-cost products/services and longer conversion cycles may also be a strong fit. You will work closely with the Degree Marketing team to execute an established paid media strategy. The strategy will be developed by the team, while this person will be responsible for putting the strategy into market, managing campaigns day-to-day, identifying issues, and making routine optimizations. This role is not intended for someone who is brand new to paid media or someone looking for a highly strategic leadership position. We are looking for someone who can come in, quickly get familiar with the accounts, and start executing with minimal training on the platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and launch paid search and paid social campaigns based on approved media plans and strategy.
  • Set up campaign structures, targeting, keywords, budgets, creative, tracking parameters, and flight dates.
  • Complete detailed pre-launch QA across links, conversion actions, targeting, budgets, creative, and tracking.
  • Monitor campaign delivery, spend, pacing, and lower-funnel performance.
  • Optimize bids, budgets, keywords, search terms, audiences, placements, and creative based on performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot tracking issues, disapproved ads, delivery problems, and significant performance changes.
  • Monitor and optimize campaigns with longer conversion cycles, understanding that results may not happen immediately.
  • Maintain accurate campaign trackers, optimization logs, and performance documentation.
  • Provide concise weekly performance updates and recommended next steps.
  • Support priority degree programs ahead of recruitment and application deadlines.
  • Work closely with internal marketing stakeholders and the paid media team to ensure campaigns are launched accurately and remain on pace.
  • Take established campaign strategy and execute it in-market across the appropriate paid media channels.
  • Quickly become familiar with existing accounts, campaigns, processes, and performance goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–8 years of hands-on paid media/performance marketing experience.
  • Experience managing paid media for higher education, financial services or another high-cost product/services industry
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Ads / Paid Search.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Ads / Paid Social or another major paid social platform.
  • Experience in focusing on execution and day-to-day campaign management, while the paid media team will provide broader strategy and direction.
  • Experience managing campaigns directly within advertising platforms.
  • Experience with campaign setup, optimization, pacing, budgets, targeting, keywords, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience managing lead-generation and lower-funnel conversion campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of keyword strategy, match types, negative keywords, bidding, and search term analysis.
  • Experience managing campaigns where the conversion cycle is longer(full customer journey may take several months) rather than optimizing only for immediate purchases or revenue.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete campaign QA and troubleshooting independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, budgets, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable interpreting performance data and using it to make practical campaign optimizations.
  • Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking, including the ability to troubleshoot issues such as conversion tags not firing.
  • Experience with Amplitude or Looker.
  • Experience with Google Sheets for reporting and campaign tracking.
  • Experience with emerging advertising platforms such as Reddit or OpenAI.
  • Comfortable working in a highly execution-focused role and day-to-day campaign management, while taking direction from a strategic paid media lead.
  • Experience optimizing toward leads, application starts, or enrollments.
