Job Title: Translation Program Manager – Legal & Localization (Contract)
Payrate: $60 - $80/hour (DOE)
Location: Remote (Must work Pacific Time Zone hours)
Duration: Minimum 3-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Translation Program Manager to oversee translation operations for legal and compliance-related content. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end workflow of documents requiring translation and legal review, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery across stakeholders.
You will serve as the central point of coordination between internal teams, legal stakeholders, and external translation vendors. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in translation services program management, strong operational rigor, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
What You’ll Do
- Own and program manage the end-to-end translation workflow for legal and compliance-related documents
- Manage intake, prioritization, and routing of documents that require translation and legal review
- Coordinate with external translation vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables
- Perform and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure translations meet required standards before delivery
- Ensure translated materials are properly reviewed and delivered back to legal stakeholders
- Track project timelines, workflow status, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution
- Drive process improvements, including audits, workflow optimization, and scalable program design
- Manage vendor relationships, including performance tracking, issue resolution, and ongoing improvements
- Support budget tracking, reporting, and overall program metrics
- Provide regular reporting and analytics to stakeholders on program performance
- Support translation efforts for materials such as litigation documentation and product-related terms and conditions
What You Bring (Must-Have)
- Proven experience in translation services program management with the ability to advise and guide translation workflows
- Experience with translation program development, process audits, and process improvement/design
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across cross-functional teams
- Experience in quality management and ensuring accuracy of translated content
- Experience managing external vendors and translation service providers
- Experience with budget management, metrics analytics, and reporting
- Hands-on experience in localization project management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and handle escalations professionally
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience working with legal teams or legal documentation (litigation, compliance, etc.)
- Familiarity with legal translation workflows or regulated content environments
- Experience supporting global or enterprise-level translation programs
