Engineering Technician V – CAD/Revit & Facilities

Full Time, Direct Hire

$44.86/hr + Benefits

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V to support engineering and construction projects through CAD/Revit drafting, record drawing management, field verification, and project documentation.

 

This role works closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers throughout the project lifecycle and is responsible for maintaining accurate facility drawings, construction documents, and as-built records.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain detailed engineering, construction, and facility drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Support Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with construction drawings, design layouts, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Review blueprints, plans, structural specifications, and project drawings to verify dimensions, materials, and design requirements.
  • Maintain accurate record drawings and as-built documentation, including incorporating field changes and red-line drawings into final records.
  • Perform field verification of existing facility conditions, including measurements, elevations, alignments, and equipment locations.
  • Review contractor and as-built drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain CAD files, layers, drawing logs, archives, and documentation in accordance with established standards.
  • Convert existing and as-built drawings into standard AutoCAD formats as needed.
  • Support site surveys and construction inspections to verify work conforms to drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Calculate dimensions, square footage, material quantities, and other project measurements.
  • Prepare project reports, inspection records, photographs, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with project planning, cost estimates, field evaluations, and engineering work clearance requests.
  • Support the safe and reliable operation of the facility by following established procedures, maintenance requirements, and emergency plans.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, equivalent, technical apprenticeship, or trade school education required.
  • Formal technical training in AutoCAD and/or Revit from an accredited technical school or college required.
  • Experience developing and maintaining construction drawings, facility drawings, record drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and basic building systems.
  • Experience performing field measurements and verifying existing facility conditions.
  • Strong proficiency with computers and CAD-related documentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate technical records and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and facility teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph is required.

You can translate field conditions and engineering changes into accurate drawings while keeping project and facility documentation organized and up to date.
