Senior Project Manager, Consumer Engagement
Pay Rate: $80–$118/hour
Duration: 12-month assignmenr

Location: Hybrid — San Mateo, CA preferred; remote within the U.S.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact projects and programs across cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will be local to San Mateo and able to work in a hybrid capacity. Candidates located elsewhere in the U.S. may work remotely but will be required to attend up to four sync weeks per year at the San Mateo campus. Travel costs to the campus will be covered for remote employees.
In this role, you will manage end-to-end project delivery, from scoping and planning through execution and financial tracking. You will serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment on business objectives, project scope, timelines, resources, quality, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate has strong experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects, managing multiple workstreams, anticipating project risks, and building collaborative, high-performing teams. This individual should also bring strong communication, organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, along with a commitment to continuous process improvement.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for senior internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and maintaining alignment with business objectives
- Develop a strong understanding of strategic objectives and ensure project plans and deliverables support broader business goals
- Lead project status meetings and provide clear, concise updates on progress, risks, issues, and key decisions
- Establish transparent communication across stakeholders and proactively identify and address concerns
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships and provide strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle
- Define and document project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and resource requirements in collaboration with relevant teams
- Maintain accurate project information, resource allocations, timelines, and delivery documentation
- Monitor project efficiency and performance, identifying and escalating risks before they become issues
- Prepare and manage project scopes and change requests in alignment with business objectives
- Manage project budgets, financial tracking, profitability, and related financial risks, as applicable
- Lead large-scale, complex projects or programs with multiple workstreams and cross-functional dependencies
- Select and apply appropriate project delivery methodologies based on project objectives, timelines, cost, and quality requirements
- Establish and manage project tools, systems, governance, checkpoints, and review processes
- Lead project kick-off meetings and align stakeholders on objectives, timelines, deliverables, roles, and expectations
- Establish effective project governance and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across areas such as product development, marketing, operations, and technology
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and a shared sense of purpose across project teams
- Identify and address issues affecting team productivity, collaboration, or morale
- Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship to project team members
- Partner with resource management to ensure appropriate skills and resources are available when needed
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, processes, and best practices
- Capture project learnings and contribute to internal and external case studies or project summaries
- Mentor and support junior project management team members
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership within the project management function
- Achieve established personal and team utilization targets
What You Bring
- 5–8 years of project management experience within a client-side or brand-side organization, managing large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Proven ability to lead complex projects or programs with multiple workstreams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, tracking profitability, and identifying financial risks
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools such as Jira, Wrike, Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project
- Ability to tailor project delivery approaches to meet specific business and project requirements
- Advanced proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools such as G-Suite or Microsoft Teams
- Strong understanding of digital trends, technologies, and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholder expectations at all levels
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, including experience developing high-performing teams
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to anticipate risks, solve problems proactively, and maintain project quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Commitment to continuous learning, process improvement, and operational efficiency
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid opportunity with preference for candidates local to San Mateo, CA
- Remote candidates may be considered from elsewhere in the U.S.
