Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Advisor to provide independent clinical expertise and advisory support across telehealth and virtual care programs. In this role, you will support clinical governance, policy development, quality assurance initiatives, and program evaluation while helping ensure alignment with evidence-informed practice and regulatory standards.
This position requires a physician with strong clinical judgment, healthcare systems knowledge, and experience supporting virtual care or telehealth programs. The ideal candidate is collaborative, analytical, and comfortable operating at both the clinical and program level while engaging with healthcare partners and regulatory stakeholders.
This role may involve the use of approved AI tools to support day-to-day operations, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making through automated workflows, drafting tools, summarization tools, and data-supported recommendations.
What You’ll Do:
· Provide independent clinical expertise and advisory support across telehealth and virtual care programs
· Advise on development, refinement, and periodic review of clinical policies, pathways, protocols, and telehealth guidelines
· Serve as a medical consultant supporting annual reviews of telehealth clinical content and operational standards
· Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives including chart reviews, audits, trend analysis, and medical adjudication
· Provide clinical input regarding patient safety events, complaints, escalation protocols, and risk mitigation strategies
· Contribute to service expansion initiatives, research programs, pilot projects, and program evaluation activities
· Collaborate with clinical leadership teams to provide ongoing program-level clinical guidance and operational support
· Serve as a liaison with Regional Health Authorities, government agencies, and healthcare system stakeholders
· Represent the organization within stakeholder meetings, committees, and public-facing healthcare discussions
· Monitor emerging virtual care and telehealth best practices and provide recommendations for program alignment and improvement
· Support interpretation of data from virtual care systems to improve workflows, guidelines, and operational processes
What You Bring:
· Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized medical school
· Licensed physician in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB)
· Authorized to practice within Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network
· Recent clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or related specialties
· Experience providing clinical guidance, medical advisory support, or healthcare program consultation
· Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and professional standards within New Brunswick
· Experience with virtual care, telehealth, or digital health service delivery strongly preferred
· Experience supporting quality assurance, medical governance, clinical guideline review, or pilot program evaluation
· Ability to analyze clinical data, identify trends, and provide evidence-informed recommendations
· Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
· Experience using EMR/EHR systems, virtual care platforms, and healthcare technology tools
· Understanding of population health priorities and healthcare access challenges within New Brunswick

· Bilingual proficiency in English and French
· Experience working with Regional Health Authorities, government agencies, or professional associations
· Experience supporting healthcare innovation, digital transformation, or AI-enabled clinical workflows
· Experience contributing to healthcare research, policy development, or evidence-based clinical initiatives
