Payroll Accounting Specialist

Los Angeles, CA 90017 (Hybrid **Must be local)

$40-$55hr (Weekly pay + medical benefits)

4 month contract ( Excellent potential for extension)

Full-time: M-F, flexible start times/ paid parking

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall employee payroll and benefits administration. Process and maintain employee information in HRIS system. Ensure all data/documentations/procedures associated with compensation, payroll, and benefits are in compliance with audit standards, Bank’s laws, and regulations

 

 

DUTIES:

  • Employee Payroll and Benefits Implementation
  • Reconcile and process AP bills on a timely matter
  • Process employee payroll, benefits, insurance, pension, and savings plans (including payroll transmission and breakdown, general ledger reconciliation, E-time vacation accrual reports, ADP bills, and reimbursement, etc.)
  • Reconciliation of employee payroll tax withholding to ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare monthly salary and benefits related reports
  • Prepare data and information associated with payroll, benefits, and compensation to internal and/or external auditors and regulators if requested
  • Support the execution of compensation, payroll, and benefits procedures and documentation with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Update payroll, benefits, compensation, and other employee information for the maintenance of human resources information and payroll system
  • Respond to any inquiries in relation to compensation and benefits by employees
  •  Reconcile of HR general ledgers
  • Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Perform all assigned duties under Bank’s compliance programs and related laws & regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Human Resources or related fields OR relevant experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting; specifically payroll & benefits administration
  • 2+ yrs experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Some accounting experience; mostly in AP.
  • Experience or some understanding to reconcile AP bills
  • Experience to process bi-weekly payroll
  • Experience to reconciliation of employee payroll tax withholding (familiar with payroll taxes- local and state)
  • Understanding of different taxations; what is SSA range etc
  • Experience to process employee payroll, benefits, insurance, pension, and savings plans
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and City payroll and benefits compliance
  • Experience to download and pull reports in ADP Workforce now or similar systems
  • Basic excel experience
  • Able to process and maintain employee information in HRIS system
  • Respond to employees who reach out on inquires related to compensation and benefits
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and a proven track record of accuracy
  • Must know how to prioritize and know how to balance deadlines
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
