Corporate Paralegal

Pay rate: $50 to $75 per hour

Part-time (10 hours average per week)

San Diego, CA area or remote in PST timezone

Temporary assignment: 6 months with possibilty for extension

 

Our client in the biotech industry is looking for a Corporate Paralegal to support their legal team. This role will provide support for the full contract lifecycle, to include reviewing, finalizing and/or administering of contracts and other legal documents. This position will support the General Counsel in ensuring contracts are completed in a timely manner and follow internal policies.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of contract workflow and approval process
  • Review and redline contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and conformance to master agreements and applicable legal framework
  • Coordinate with General Counsel and business units for acceptance of any non-standard agreement terms where necessary
  • Assist in the management of Lexion, the online contract management system used by the company, and support the coordination of signatures as necessary
  • Organize standard contract templates and playbook database and maintain and recommend updates as needed
  • Assist in providing training to employees on contracts, the contract process and other legal and compliance matters
  • Provide support to legal and finance teams with the preparation and filing of corporate filings and at times, the maintenance of compliance for SEC regulations
  • Other legal tasks as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Paralegal certification is required
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, contract manager or equivalent in an in-house legal department in a health care or life sciences company
  • Experience reviewing and coordinating a wide variety of agreements
  • Must be able to exercise utmost discretion in handling sensitive and confidential company information
  • Excellent oral/written communication, organization/analytical and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and project management abilities are all required
  • Must be able to multi-task, analyze information, understand business needs, set and manage own work priorities and meet deadlines
