Position Summary

We are seeking a Deputy Program Director, Technical Support to help lead the performance and operations of the NGA contract. This senior leadership position is responsible for ensuring contract requirements are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the satisfaction of the customer.

 

The role oversees key business and operational functions including program performance, work control, finance, budgeting, invoicing, cost reporting, quality control, document management, customer service, purchasing, and contracting. The Deputy Program Director will also maintain full knowledge of the contract and be prepared to perform Program Manager responsibilities when needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee assigned programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, performance, and operational execution.
  • Ensure contract services meet established performance, productivity, safety, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Lead and support teams responsible for work control, finance, invoicing, budgeting, cost reporting, quality control, document management, customer service, purchasing, and contracting.
  • Establish program goals and key performance metrics and monitor performance against contract requirements.
  • Analyze operations for efficiency, effectiveness, timely completion, financial performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate work priorities and evaluate program methods, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Drive quality and accountability across operational deliverables.
  • Ensure services comply with applicable standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Partner with senior management on strategic planning, organizational direction, and departmental goals.
  • Support programs aligned with organizational mission, contractual requirements, and the populations served by ServiceSource.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with customers, community stakeholders, advocates, funding organizations, media, or other external groups as appropriate.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the NGA contract and provide coverage for Program Manager responsibilities when required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Strong experience with project or program management methods and practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple operational functions, teams, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Experience establishing and tracking performance metrics and evaluating program or operational performance.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial performance, cost management, and operational reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adjust team priorities as business and contract needs change.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn organization-specific systems and software.
  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification strongly preferred.
  • Security clearance, background check, and any additional certification requirements will be determined by the contract.
