Location: On-site (Pleasanton, CA)

Duration: 6-month assignment

Pay Rate: $49.00–$61.50/hour


Job Overview

The Senior People Generalist provides broad and experienced support across the People function, partnering with People Business Partners, managers, and employees to deliver effective HR programs, processes, and employee support across the organization.


This role plays an important part in executing people initiatives, managing employee relations matters, supporting policy administration, and ensuring consistent and compliant HR operations. The Senior People Generalist serves as a trusted day-to-day resource for managers and employees, helps drive process improvements, and contributes to a positive employee experience in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings strong HR generalist expertise, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a broad range of people-related matters with professionalism and care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with People Business Partners and People leadership to execute HR programs, policies, and processes that support business needs and employee experience.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and managers regarding HR procedures, policies, benefits, and people practices, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate.
  • Independently manage employee relations matters of moderate complexity, including intake, documentation, issue resolution, and investigations, partnering with senior People leaders when needed.
  • Coordinate and support onboarding, orientation, internal transitions, and offboarding activities to ensure smooth and consistent employee lifecycle experiences.
  • Partner with Payroll, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of people processes and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and help ensure compliance with data privacy requirements, employment laws, internal policies, and reporting obligations.
  • Support managers with day-to-day HR needs, including policy interpretation, employee questions, documentation, and people process guidance.
  • Contribute to HR communications, training, engagement initiatives, and culture-building efforts.
  • Prepare workforce reports, dashboards, and people data summaries while helping ensure data accuracy and useful insights for decision-making.
  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement initiatives that increase consistency, compliance, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a reliable resource for employees and managers, helping resolve issues effectively while promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
  • Provide guidance and informal support to less experienced People team members, as applicable.


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with strong exposure to HR generalist, employee relations, or business partner support functions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR operations, compliance requirements, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced, high-growth, or complex business environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and documentation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Experience contributing to HR process improvements, reporting, training, or program implementation preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
