Denver, CO Hybrid- Local candidates)

$25-30hr (Weekly pay + Benefits)

12 month contract (Excellent potential for permanent/extension)

Full-time: M-F (Onsite 2 days a week)

The Role

As a Jr Accountant you’ll work to drive improvements and quality initiatives across our growing Accounting & Finance organization, supporting senior accounting leadership with strategies that prioritize scalability and value creation. In this role you’ll hit the ground running, getting deep into work processed by the Treasury & AP teams and identifying areas for improvement. You will be responsible for helping the Corporate Accounting team close the books monthly, as well as building out related internal controls, automation and process enhancements.

Core Responsibilities


  • Assist with recording monthly bank activity.
  • Reconcile cleared outstanding checks daily and work with our AP department to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation for bank accounts and other assigned accounts, working with business partners to obtain support for any reconciling items.
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records to verify accuracy and to determine if there are any discrepancies in financial data.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors during quarterly and year-end reviews relating to financial statement audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Adhere to key controls as identified through SOX.
  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives to improve reporting, analytical tools, and technical aspects of accounting procedures and practices.


What we value


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant experience
  • 2-7 years in General Accounting, AR, AP, Finance or Staff Accountant for past paced company
  • Must have great attitude, hungry, curious and very motivated
  • Strong desire and motivation to learn and grow
  • Requires experience with journal entries, reconciliation and month end support
  • Bonus: Experience working for a public company/ global/larger company
  • Some understanding to prepare monthly reconciliation for bank accounts and recording monthly bank activity
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
  • Must have the experience or ability to work in a fast-paced environment; interested to take on high volume work.
  • Very interested in taking on different accounting duties as needed
  • Must have excellent communication skills and also professional email etiquettes
  • Previous experience working with outside vendors helpful
  • Experience with international functions and teams is a plus, but not required
  • Ability and past experience working with several teams: Treasury, Tax and AP teams
  • A highly analytical and innovative approach to problem solving, with a demonstrated track record of process improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to maintain accuracy in work products and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
