Title: Technical Project Manager – Zscaler Security Transformation (Contract)

Pay Rate: $89 - $93/hour

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with deep hands-on expertise in Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to lead an enterprise security transformation initiative. This role will oversee the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and optimization of Zscaler technologies while partnering with security, networking, infrastructure, and identity teams to deliver a scalable Zero Trust architecture.

Unlike a traditional project management role, this position requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to actively participate in architecture discussions, validate configurations, troubleshoot issues, and make technical recommendations throughout the implementation lifecycle. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading enterprise network security projects, migrating organizations from legacy VPN environments, and supporting compliance-driven security initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Lead the end-to-end rollout of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), managing project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and executive reporting

• Design, configure, and optimize ZIA security policies, including URL filtering, SSL inspection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), cloud application controls, and internet access policies

• Configure and manage ZPA application segments, access policies, connector architecture, and Zero Trust access controls

• Partner with IT Security, Network Engineering, Identity Management, and Infrastructure teams to align security policies with enterprise access models

• Collaborate with Identity teams to integrate Zscaler with Okta and implement device posture and conditional access policies

• Coordinate endpoint deployments across macOS and Windows environments using Jamf and Microsoft Intune

• Support BYOD and mobile device management initiatives where Zscaler intersects with secure remote access

• Develop technical standards, implementation documentation, and compliance artifacts supporting cybersecurity and audit requirements

• Identify architecture gaps, recommend improvements, and drive remediation efforts throughout the implementation

• Lead migration planning and execution from legacy VPN solutions to a Secure Service Edge (SSE) and Zero Trust architecture

• Deliver executive-ready status reports, technical documentation, risk assessments, and project updates throughout the engagement

What You Bring

• 5+ years of technical project management experience leading enterprise security, networking, or infrastructure transformation initiatives

• Deep hands-on expertise with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), including architecture, policy configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of Zero Trust networking principles and Secure Service Edge (SSE) architectures

• Experience implementing SSL inspection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), cloud application controls, and secure web gateway policies

• Experience integrating Zscaler with identity providers such as Okta and implementing device posture or conditional access controls

• Experience supporting endpoint deployments using Jamf and/or Microsoft Intune

• Strong technical documentation, compliance documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects while collaborating across security, networking, infrastructure, and engineering teams

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Bonus Points If You Have

• Zscaler certifications such as ZDTA, ZDTP, or equivalent

• Experience supporting compliance initiatives including Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+), SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks

• Experience migrating organizations from legacy VPN solutions to Zero Trust or SSE architectures

• Experience with BYOD, Mobile Application Management (MAM), or enterprise mobility initiatives

• Background supporting enterprise cybersecurity modernization or digital transformation programs
