Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Senior Payroll Specialist to design, build, and manage our payroll and timekeeping systems and processes. In this role, you will take ownership of creating scalable, compliant, and efficient payroll operations while ensuring alignment with regulations and best practices.

 

The ideal candidate is an expert in payroll and timekeeping compliance, with a passion for process design, technology integration, and delivering an exceptional employee experience. This is a unique opportunity to establish and optimize systems that are integral to the success of a growing organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

●     Design and implement end-to-end payroll and timekeeping processes that are accurate, efficient, and compliant.

●     Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll processing, timekeeping, reporting, and compliance.

●     Manage payroll processing, including salary, hourly, and commission payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

●     Oversee timekeeping compliance by designing systems to accurately track employee hours, breaks, and overtime.

●     Ensure alignment with state and federal timekeeping regulations, including wage and hour laws.

●     Address and resolve payroll and timekeeping inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

●     Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll and timekeeping laws and regulations.

●     Conduct regular audits of payroll and timekeeping data to maintain accuracy and compliance.

●     Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate accounting, tax filings, and compliance reporting.

●     Provide actionable insights through data analysis to improve payroll and timekeeping efficiency and accuracy.

 

Qualifications

 

●     5+ years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll and timekeeping systems.

●     Proven experience designing and implementing payroll and timekeeping processes and systems.

●     Advanced proficiency with payroll and timekeeping software and Excel.

●     In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll and timekeeping regulations, including wage and hour laws.

●     Exceptional accuracy and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.

●     ABility to identify and resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies effectively.

Preferred:

●     Experience in a high-growth or startup environment.

●     Payroll certifications (e.g., CPP, FPC).
