HR Generalist and Compliance Specialist (UK Remote)

Location: Remote UK (preferable London)

Contract: 4–6 months (strong potential to extend)

Hours: Full-time; either 11am–7pm UK or 12pm–8pm UK

Compensation: £9,450 – £11,550 GBP per month

Our client continues to scale globally, the People Operations team is seeking a HR Generalist and Compliance Specialist to support critical people programs across the UK, US, Canada, and LATAM (with bonus points for broader EMEA experience).


This role is employee-facing and requires someone who is both a strong HR Generalist and a **compliance-savvy advisor**. You will support benefits administration, leave of absence programs, compliance reviews, employee inquiries, and cross-functional partnership work—while ensuring a consistent, high-quality employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits & Leaves (UK + Americas)

  • Support administration of benefit programs across the UK and Americas (US, Canada, LATAM).
  • Manage end-to-end open enrollment processes, including employee communication and system changes.
  • Serve as the process owner for benefits and leave-of-absence programs.
  • Administer LOA workflows, documentation, tracking, and partner escalations.

Employee Experience & Tier 2 Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries through ServiceNow (or similar ticketing systems).
  • Respond to day-to-day questions with a high-touch, “here to help” approach.
  • Ensure timely, accurate resolutions and positive employee interactions.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with UK employment laws; working knowledge of US/Canada/LATAM compliance is beneficial.
  • Conduct regular audits of documentation, employee files, benefits data, and HR operational processes.
  • Identify compliance risks, assess gaps, propose solutions, and execute corrective actions.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of compliance in Germany, France, and/or UAE.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Payroll, People Business Partners, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Operations, and IT.
  • Work with external partners—including brokers and vendors—to resolve issues and maintain program accuracy.
  • Navigate and negotiate discussions with vendors, brokers, and business stakeholders.

People Programs & Process Enablement

  • Contribute to the design and launch of global people programs that improve employee experience.
  • Create, update, and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and internal workflows.
  • Provide data insights by analyzing ticketing metrics and trends.

Immigration Support

  • Serve as the global program manager and primary point of contact for immigration-related matters.


Requirements

  • 4-10 yrs of strong HR Generalist background with experience supporting onboarding, benefits, compliance, LOA, and employee lifecycle work.
  • 4- 10 yrs of compliance expertise—must know how to assess risks, identify compliance gaps, and address issues proactively.
  • Experience supporting UK with HR and compliance maters (required).
  • Must have strong Employee-facing experience with strong service orientation,
  • Must have experience to serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries through ServiceNow (or similar ticketing systems).
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, business teams, vendors, and brokers.
  • Ability to navigate vendor/broker conversations confidently and professionally.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and work effectively in a remote, global environment.
  • Hands-on experience using a ticketing system (ServiceNow preferred; similar tools acceptable).
  • Experience working in a global environment (US, Canada, LATAM); UK experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, employee-friendly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Highly organized; able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and confidential matters.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and insights from ticketing data.
  • Tech-savvy with Google Workspace, HRIS systems (Workday preferred), and fast learning of new tools.


Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with global benefits programs, especially for the Americas.
  • Understanding of international compliance (Germany, France, UAE).
