Position Summary
BoujieMana is a full-service restaurant in central San Diego serving both the surrounding neighborhood and the internal TCWGlobal community. The restaurant offers an elevated, yet approachable dining experience focused on quality and hospitality.
The space includes a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a private VIP room, and a training and event center for up to 120 guests. BoujieMana serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using high-quality ingredients at a higher-end price point while remaining accessible.
With strong evening and weekend traffic and convenient parking, BoujieMana operates as both a neighborhood destination and an event-driven hospitality space. We are looking for a hands-on, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to support daily operations, lead the team on the floor, and help create a polished, memorable experience for every guest. This person will work closely with the Front of House Manager, Private Events Manager, Executive Chef, and ownership to uphold service standards, support team accountability, manage labor and scheduling, assist with events, and ensure the restaurant operates with consistency, care, and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, solutions-oriented, and passionate about both people and process. They should be comfortable leading pre-shift meetings, supporting service in real time, coaching team members, managing restaurant systems, reviewing daily reports, controlling labor, and helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary operational partner to upper management, helping oversee restaurant performance, guest experience, and team effectiveness.
• Directly supervise, coach, and develop front-of-house leadership, including the Front-of-House Manager(s) and other supervisory team members.
• Provide leadership coverage in the General Manager's absence and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the restaurant.
• Lead or oversee pre-shift meetings to ensure managers and team members are informed of reservations, VIPs, events, menu updates, 86'd items, and service expectations.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development efforts to build and retain a strong team.
• Review staffing, labor, scheduling, payroll, and operational performance to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business goals.
• Analyze sales, labor, and service trends and help implement solutions that improve performance and profitability.
• Ensure employees consistently execute service standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Oversee cash controls, POS activity, comps, voids, discounts, and operational reporting to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Partner with leadership on employee performance, coaching, corrective action, and development planning.
• Support the planning and execution of private events, large parties, and high-volume service periods.
• Foster strong communication and collaboration between front-of-house, back-of-house, bar, and leadership teams.
• Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests, supporting managers, and assisting with service operations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and company policies.
• Utilize restaurant systems and reporting tools to monitor performance and support operational decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
• 5+ years of progressive restaurant leadership experience, including experience in a Restaurant Manager, Front-of-House Manager, Assistant General Manager, or similar role within a full-service or upscale dining environment.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including staffing, labor management, payroll, cost control, and guest experience.
• Experience with hiring, training, performance management, and team development.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, food service, and private event operations preferred.
• Highly organized and capable of balancing administrative responsibilities with a visible leadership presence on the floor.
• Proficiency with POS, scheduling, payroll, reservation, and reporting systems.
• Hospitality-driven mindset with a commitment to operational excellence, team development, and exceptional guest service.
