Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage day-to-day payroll and benefits administration while maintaining accurate employee data and supporting compliance requirements. This role will process payroll and benefits, reconcile payroll-related accounts, maintain HRIS records, and serve as a resource for employee payroll and benefits questions.
What You’ll Do
- Process employee payroll and administer benefits, insurance, pension, and savings plans.
- Manage payroll transmission and breakdowns, vacation accrual reporting, ADP billing, reimbursements, and related payroll activities.
- Maintain accurate payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee information within the HRIS/payroll system.
- Prepare monthly payroll, salary, benefits, and compensation reports.
- Reconcile HR-related general ledger accounts and process related AP invoices.
- Research and resolve payroll, compensation, and benefits inquiries from employees.
- Provide payroll, benefits, and compensation data to internal/external auditors and regulators as requested.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support internal controls related to payroll, compensation, and benefits.
- Ensure payroll and benefits processes comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, as well as company policies and regulatory standards.
- Complete required banking and compliance training and support other HR-related responsibilities as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Hands-on experience processing payroll and maintaining employee information within an HRIS/payroll system.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits requirements.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and payroll-related reporting.
- Experience documenting processes and maintaining internal controls.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently.
- Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach to employee support.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
