We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Director of External HR & Compliance to join our energetic team and who will interact daily with clients and employees. The individual will be managing a team of compliance professionals. This position is responsible for the company’s external compliance and HR activities, policy development, and escalated employee relations. In addition to these responsibilities, the candidate should be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a "can-do" attitude. The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent verbal and written customer service skills and, in addition, should be able to multi-task, prioritize and be a highly detailed oriented individual


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serves as the company’s main compliance resource by keeping abreast of all current employment laws and communicating the updates and changes to the company
  • Evaluates HR and compliance processes and strategies for improvements
  • Effectively manages employees of the compliance department
  • Ensures corporate policies are accurate, current, and in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Reviews and updates policies accordingly
  • Develops and modifies company forms and contracts used in business operations
  • Interprets and disseminates information on regulatory matters
  • Serves as a SME resource when needed for our Internal HR, Benefits, and Prescreening Departments.
  • Will assist with interdepartment training & development
  • Works directly with CCO & General Counsel to ensure compliance is met for both our organization and our clients
  • Provides support for client and internal escalated employee relations; Objectively and thoroughly conducts formal/informal investigations and provides recommendations
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation claim oversight and FMLA/LOA processes with the team
  • Handle company reporting, such as California Pay Data Reporting and EEO-1.
  • Other compliance projects as assigned


Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelor’s in related discipline; 7+ years Human Resources, Legal, Compliance/Regulatory experience
  • Ability to interpret regulations and laws and disseminate information
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
  • Experience managing a team of employees
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to handle detailed, confidential, and time sensitive work
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Advanced proficiency preferred
  • Excellent work ethic and team oriented

 

Salary & Benefits:

This position offers full-time benefits, including a comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Additional compensation may be earned by exceeding sales and service goals.
