Job Title: Senior Service Supply Planner (Contract)
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Payrate: $59 - $69/hr
Duration: 6-month assignment
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Service Planner to support service operations and supply planning within a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining service supply plans, managing inventory and demand forecasts, and ensuring alignment between production, repair operations, and customer demand.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, hands-on SAP experience, and a deep understanding of service supply chains. You are highly organized, proactive, and capable of driving cross-functional coordination to ensure operational success.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and manage service supply plans to support customer return demand and operational requirements
- Manage system parameters including contracts, part numbers, bills of material, and supplier relationships to ensure data accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including shortages, excess, and minimum stock thresholds
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts and track key performance metrics for reporting
- Collaborate with production and factory teams to reduce excess inventory and optimize supply planning
- Coordinate with production planning and business units on demand trade-offs and alternate part strategies
- Identify and address capacity, material, and production constraints by working with planning teams and stakeholders
- Analyze supply and demand fluctuations and prepare weekly supply summaries
- Partner with repair operations to maximize utilization of refurbished materials
- Support product ramp planning from early-stage sampling through production and coordinate product transitions
- Manage purchase orders for service-related products across repair and production sites
- Provide analytical and systems support to improve planning processes and tools
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in service planning or supply chain planning, preferably using SAP
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables; macros a plus)
- Experience working with MRP systems and supply planning tools
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
- Experience in service operations, spare parts planning, and customer support environments
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with service supply chains and how they differ from production supply chains
- Ability to communicate supply-demand insights and risks to executive stakeholders
- Experience with large-scale systems or IT projects, including process and system design
- Experience with service planning tools such as Prophet (Baxter)
- Familiarity with SFDC, SAP, CRM systems, or similar platforms
- Experience with build-to-order or configure-to-order supply chain models
- Experience in service logistics and fast-paced operational environments
- Strong tracking, reporting, and data visualization skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational challenges and drive improvements
