Summary
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Initiatives Project Manager to support a Talent Enablement team within a large technology organization. This team supports business operations through workforce planning, employee experience, learning and development, change management, and strategic consulting for senior leadership.
In this role, you will independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from initial scoping through execution and final delivery. You will bring structure to ambiguous requests, establish project plans and tracking systems, define ownership, monitor progress, and ensure initiatives remain on track. Working closely with senior leadership, you will manage multiple concurrent projects while building scalable processes, reusable resources, and operational tools that improve execution and visibility.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly organized project or program manager who exercises sound judgment, navigates ambiguity, and drives accountability across teams without direct authority. Experience applying AI tools and automation to project management and operational workflows is a plus.
What You'll Do
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify strategic objectives, assess business needs, and define project scope, ownership, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Own end-to-end project delivery, translating ambiguous requests into structured plans and driving initiatives from initial discovery and scoping through implementation and final review.
- Manage approximately 4–5 large, complex projects simultaneously, while supporting a broader portfolio of initiatives of varying sizes.
- Build and maintain project plans, trackers, dashboards, and operating systems that establish clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, timelines, and accountability.
- Proactively monitor project progress, identify risks and roadblocks, resolve execution challenges, and escalate decisions requiring leadership input.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstreams and maintain alignment among stakeholders, ensuring commitments are met and initiatives continue moving forward.
- Prepare concise status updates, recommendations, and decision-making materials for senior leaders.
- Translate approved recommendations into actionable workstreams and drive follow-through across responsible teams.
- Develop reusable project management playbooks, templates, processes, and review mechanisms to improve consistency and scalability.
- Coordinate external vendors or consultants as needed, including tracking deliverables, reviewing outcomes, and documenting lessons learned.
- Leverage approved AI tools and automation to streamline research, project coordination, documentation, reporting, and knowledge management.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and apply lessons learned to future initiatives.
What You Bring
- 7–10+ years of experience in project management, program management, or a related field preferred. Candidates with approximately 5 years of experience may be considered if they have worked in a highly regarded, complex, large-scale technology organization.
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end project or program delivery, including defining scope, building plans, establishing accountability, managing execution, and delivering outcomes.
- Experience independently managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong organizational and operational skills, including the ability to build tracking systems, establish processes, manage dependencies, and maintain visibility across a portfolio of projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience working with senior leaders and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong analytical thinking and judgment, with the ability to structure unclear requests, identify risks, challenge assumptions, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience managing competing priorities, resolving roadblocks, and maintaining momentum across multiple workstreams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear status updates and actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in project management tools, tracking systems, and documentation platforms.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience in Business Operations, People Operations, Talent Enablement, Human Resources, Change Management, Learning and Development, or strategic consulting.
- Experience supporting executive-sponsored initiatives or partnering directly with directors and senior leadership.
- Experience using Airtable to build and maintain project trackers, databases, dashboards, interfaces, or automations.
- Experience applying AI tools and automation to project management, reporting, research, or operational workflows.
- Experience developing operational frameworks, scalable processes, and project management practices within a large technology organization.
