Senior Python Engineer – Trading & Data Systems | London

Our client in the crypto and digital assets trading industry is hiring a Senior Python Engineer to build and scale the data and research systems used by traders and analysts.

This role focuses on building fast Python tools, data pipelines, and analytics platforms that support live trading and strategy development. You’ll work closely with trading and research teams in a hands-on, technical environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Building Python tools used by traders and analysts
• Developing data pipelines for market and trading data
• Supporting model research, testing, and analysis tools
• Scaling research workloads into production systems
• Working with distributed computing frameworks
• Improving Jupyter-based research environments
• Building dashboards and visual tools for monitoring trading activity

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional Python experience
• Experience building data pipelines and data-heavy systems
• Comfortable with tools like:
• Pandas, NumPy
• Jupyter, Matplotlib, or similar
• Experience building APIs or internal tooling
• Understanding of trading, crypto, or financial markets (or a strong interest)
• Comfortable working in fast-paced technical team

Nice to have (not required)

• Experience with crypto exchanges or trading platforms
• Distributed computing experience (Dask, Ray, Spark)
• Machine learning or data science experience
• Interactive data visualisation experience
