We are partnering with a well backed cryptography company doing genuinely groundbreaking work in the blockchain and privacy space. Their technology allows data to be computed on while it is still encrypted, something that has been considered the holy grail of cryptography for decades. They are now live in production, safeguarding millions in on chain assets, and bringing on enterprise customers in regulated industries globally.

About The Role

We are looking for a CISO to join as the executive accountable for security across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and leading an existing security team, you will own the strategy, posture and maturity of the information security program end to end, from internal systems and cloud infrastructure through to the engineering practices that ship cryptographic software powering the financial on chain ecosystem.

Your Responsibilities

• Define and drive the information security strategy, setting priorities that reflect the realities of protecting a cryptography company whose outputs secure high value on chain systems
• Lead, mentor and grow the existing security team as the company scales
• Own the roadmap to SOC 2, ISO 27001 and other certifications required by enterprise and regulated customers
• Serve as the executive face of security for prospective customers, partners and auditors, particularly financial institutions evaluating the technology for production use
• Harden the internal environment covering identity and access management, endpoint and cloud security, secrets management, CI/CD integrity, vendor risk and insider threat
• Build and rehearse incident response playbooks ensuring the business can detect, contain and communicate clearly in the event of a security incident

What We Need From You

• Proven track record as a CISO or senior security leader at a company safeguarding significant assets, ideally in blockchain, crypto or digital asset custody
• Deep understanding of threat models unique to high value blockchain systems including key management, smart contract exploitation and supply chain attacks on cryptographic software
• Experience taking a security program through SOC 2, ISO 27001 or equivalent certification cycles
• Strong background in cloud security, identity and access management and modern software development pipeline security
• Exceptional communication skills across engineers, executives, boards, auditors and enterprise customers
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, FHE, ZK and MPC to the level required to build strong security practices
