Head of Crypto Options | Remote

About the client

I’m working with a digital asset exchange business that sits within an established global fintech group, known for building brokerage and exchange technology. They are launching a new exchange in the US and building out a proprietary options trading desk alongside it.

The role

They are hiring a Head of Crypto Options to build and lead the desk from the ground up. This is a hands-on seat: you will trade, set the strategy, and shape the team, technology and risk framework around it.

The desk will trade across the new US venue and Deribit. The role is fully remote.

What you will do

• Build the crypto options desk from scratch, defining strategy, risk limits and trading approach
• Trade BTC and ETH options actively across the new US exchange and Deribit
• Develop and run volatility, market making and relative value strategies across venues
• Own pricing, vol surface construction and Greeks management, and make sure risk is well understood at all times
• Work with engineering to specify and build pricing, execution and risk tooling
• Hire and lead a small team of traders and quants as the desk scales
• Contribute to the exchange’s options market structure and liquidity, drawing on your experience as a trader on other venues

What they are looking for

• 5+ years trading options, with a strong track record in crypto options at a market maker, prop firm or hedge fund
• Deep experience trading on Deribit, ideally alongside other options venues
• Strong understanding of volatility trading, options pricing and portfolio risk
• Hands-on quantitative ability, with Python for research, analysis and tooling
• Experience building or scaling a desk, or a clear appetite to do so
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote setup

Nice to have

• Experience in TradFi options at a bank, market maker or exchange
• Knowledge of US-regulated derivatives markets
• Experience hiring and managing traders or quants
