Quantitative Researcher – High-Frequency Trading | London

My client – a leading player in high-frequency trading within digital assets – is expanding its London presence as part of a major global growth initiative. With a strong foundation and offices in key trading hubs, they’re now scaling their Quant Trading division and are seeking a talented Quantitative Researcher with 2–5 years’ experience to help drive strategy performance forward.

In this role, you'll work on the frontlines of HFT innovation, developing models that inform and execute trading decisions in milliseconds. You'll combine deep analytical thinking with practical implementation to help uncover inefficiencies and capitalise on real-time opportunities across digital markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build high-performance models to generate and refine trading signals
  • Conduct original research into market behaviour, price dynamics, and order flow patterns
  • Develop robust backtesting frameworks to stress-test strategies under various market conditions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with trading, engineering, and data teams to deploy strategies into live environments
  • Continuously monitor model performance and contribute to ongoing optimisation of strategies and infrastructure

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a quant research or algo trading role, preferably within financial services or digital markets
  • Proficient coding skills in Python, C++, or Rust with experience building production-grade models
  • Familiarity with machine learning methods and their practical application in trading strategy development
  • A solid grasp of market microstructure; understanding of crypto markets is a strong plus
  • Degree (Master’s or above) in a quantitative discipline such as Maths, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science from a top-tier university
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-moving trading environment

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive compensation – base salary upwards of £150,000 + performance-based bonus
  • Access to cutting-edge trading technology and infrastructure in a modern central London office
  • A vibrant, inclusive workplace culture with regular off-site retreats and team activities
  • A connected social environment, including employee-led interest groups ranging from sport to tech meetups

This is a rare chance to join a high-calibre HFT team at a pivotal growth stage. If you're looking to push the boundaries of quantitative research in crypto and digital asset trading, we’d love to hear from you.
