Senior Software Engineer – Hong Kong (On-site)

We’re hiring a Senior, product-facing full-stack engineer (frontend-leaning) to take ownership of the core investor platform for a Global Asset Management Company. This is a hands-on role focused on building, hardening, and scaling a recently migrated Next.js 15+ application serving external investors and internal teams globally.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience
• Strong commercial production experience with React and Next.js across the full application (routing, rendering strategies, Server Actions, data fetching, caching)
• Practical understanding of MongoDB (schema design, indexing, query efficiency)
• Solid grasp of modern auth patterns (Auth0, protected routes, sessions/tokens)
• Excellent engineering judgment: pragmatic, maintainable solutions with strong focus on performance, reliability, and simplicity
• Strong written & spoken English communication skills – comfortable with London-based stakeholders
• Strong preference for hedge fund, investment banking, or complex financial systems background
• We are heavy users of Claude Code and AI tools. You must use them productively while applying critical judgment to review, validate, and own the final code (no blind acceptance of AI output).
• This is a genuine ownership role for a disciplined engineer who can translate business needs into clean, production-grade solutions and help close our Asian timezone support gap.

This role is based in Hong Kong with a lucrative salary paying up to £130,000 GBP equivalent.
