Managing Director | Private Credit Origination | Chicago, USA

We're partnered with a leading Multinational Investment Bank who is seeking a Managing Director to join its Private Credit Origination and Fundraising team within the Core Middle Market Lending division.

The role focuses on origination, fundraising, and relationship management across institutional investors such as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices, primarily within the U.S. market. The ideal candidate will have deep experience across private credit and middle market direct lending, with a proven network in private equity-backed lending and institutional fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising efforts across institutional investors, with a particular focus on U.S. pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices

• Originate and structure private credit transactions focused on middle market companies

• Manage relationships with private equity sponsors and institutional investors, driving co-investment and lending opportunities

• Support origination of loan facilities typically ranging from $100M–$300M in size, with an average loan duration of approximately six years

• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Bank leadership team to develop fundraising strategies and expand AUM

• Represent private credit offerings at conferences, investor meetings, and client engagements across the U.S

• Act as a senior leader in a lean, high-performing team, mentoring junior staff and supporting overall team growth and development

Experience

• Proven background in Private Credit, Direct Lending, or Private Debt Origination

• Strong track record of fundraising from institutional investors, especially U.S. pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices

• Deep understanding of middle market lending, sponsor finance, and structured credit

• Strong network and credibility within the private credit ecosystem, ideally with exposure to PE-backed mid-market transactions

• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills.

• Comfortable working in a high-visibility, entrepreneurial environment within a large global bank

This role is based in Chicago (preferred), though flexibility for remote or other U.S. locations given heavy travel with a lucrative salary paying up to $250,000- $300,000 Base + Bonus.
