Software Engineer – Institutional Trading | Crypto Execution & OMS | London Based (Hybrid) | Up to £160,000 + Equity
Albert Bow is partnered with a crypto-native trading platform scaling out its institutional product stack. They’re looking for a backend engineer to join the core team building out high-performance trading services, including their Order Management System (OMS), exchange gateways, and risk engines.
This is a low-latency, high-throughput engineering environment where clean systems, speed, and correctness matter. You’ll work directly on core infra powering real-time execution and market connectivity.
Responsibilities
- Build high-performance backend trading services in Rust (or C++)
- Extend and maintain OMS features, order routing, matching, throttling, risk
- Optimise latency, throughput, and reliability across the trading pipeline
- Work closely with quant and trading teams to align system design with execution goals
- Ensure performance, security, and testing are core to every stage of development
- Contribute to the broader system architecture powering market data and exchange connectivity
- Participate in performance benchmarking, tuning, and capacity planning
Requirements
- Strong backend experience in Rust or C++ (ideally both)
- Experience working on trading systems or market infrastructure
- Understanding of OMS internals, market data pipelines, or exchange gateways
- Familiarity with multithreading, network programming, and performance tuning
- Exposure to Python and SQL for analytics and scripting
- Pragmatic mindset, focus on building simple, robust systems that scale
- Solid grasp of core CS concepts: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems
